Every athlete needs to assess how they are feeling today. Assess how your body has responded to Monday-Wednesdays sessions and either do the following:
1 – Take a full rest day. If this is the option you choose, then you are not allowed to feel guilty for not going into the gym. Resting is crucial to advancement in your training so if you choose to rest then have no regrets!
2 – Mobilize. Use your regular training time to mobilize. Find your problem areas and spend some time focusing on those areas.
3 – Active Recovery. This could be swimming (you can find our free swim workouts on our Competition blog every Thursday), doing a trail run, a low intensity row session or a run. I have provided a running option for those of you who’d like to run.
For time:
2-Mile Time Trial
Missed Monday’s workout due to traveling, so hit that today.
A. Up to 250X2 (93%)
B1. 115 (tall cleans)
B2. Cleans: 155/165/185/195/205/215/225/235(92%) – no misses, felt good
C. Resting my shoulder at the moment, so didn’t do the wod (ring dips and kipping/butterfly c2b bother it). Just being smart about it – feeling a bit tight so trying not to push it. So, did an old amrap I found with movements that don’t bother it.
11 hour work day Wednesday, so took that as my rest day. Did Wednesday’s work today.
A1. 65, 65, 75, 75
A2. 105, 120, 130, 135, 145, 150, 155 (95%), 160 (100%, miss)
B. 45, 65, 65, 75, 75
C. 4 rounds. Out the door with the dumbbells with 2:00 minutes left. Came back in and did the box step ups. So, time had expired, but finished the round.
