The purpose of this session is to learn your transitions – where you’ll place the barbell, how you’ll set it down, how you’ll transition to the pull-up bar, how you’ll transition back to the barbell, etc…. Go “game speed” for each set, and rest as long as you need to between the sets to make each set worthwhile as a learning experience.

Got 138 reps (12 Thrusters into round 21). After analyzing my video I think I can improve on that so will redo in a couple of days. I’m in the 55-59 age group and thrusters were very light.
Did 18.5 and got 75! Biggest win is that thrusters no longer intimidate me. 🙂 I made a plan and stuck to it, smooth transitions, no mistakes. Very happy with this. My coaches were laughing bc apparently I turned blue trying to finish out that set of 15 thrusters. LOL. 🙂 I literally had no more breath!! May try it again on Monday, just to see if I’ve adapted enough to get into that set of 15 c2b…:) What a fun way to finish the Open!
18.5 118 reps. Happy girl today! I met my goal of competing in the open this year as RX, one and done, and hopefully making the top 50! Good luck to all those moving on to the MQ. I’ll be rooting for you!
Got 75 today. Not what I wanted at all. I was worried about the thrusters going into it and got completely in my head. Sorta checked out and kind of gave up around the set of 12.
I needed an attitude adjustment for sure. Will redo on Sunday.
Started warming up and got a pretty jean headache. Never went away but I wanted to get this done so I took my time with lots of rest. Seemed to work out. Not a huge score but I’ll take it. 108 reps. 14 less reps than 7 years ago when I was a lot healthier physically and I think I did that workout 3 times that year to get a 122. No complaints and time to look towards the future.
I’m with Cheryl, shoulders were sore from all the pushups we did the last several days but knocked this one out over lunch today. Now I’ve got to decide what to do this evening.
Triceps are still very sore from Tuesday’s push-ups and weighted dips…I guess I pushed myself too hard! Going to hold off 18.5 until tomorrow! ?

Found that the barbell at 90 degrees to pull-up bar worked best for me.
Having the barbell parallel to the pull-up bar was difficult to step over and back. I am pretty clumsy!
