I played around with the WOD’s tonight as well:

Event 2: 75% of it in <8m as RX'd: changing my own weight and not rushing anything. It is going to be a game changer after WOD 1, especially if they require squat snatch. Mixed power and squats. Just wanted to feel 185# after some MU's.

Mashup of other movements and such. Was going to hit #4 but holding off until tomorrow to feel that out considering I don't want to squat heavy yet.

The 80 ghds from Event 1 will change the MUs for sure. If we can power the snatches it will help a lot

Yeah but after feeling the 185’s tonight, I don’t think many masters will be powering those up at that point. I remember how many masters had problems simply snatching #175 x5 times in 2014 on our final event after only 5 burpee mu’s.

Agreed. I was thinking power the first two rounds at 135/155 if allowed. Seems easier to power them, then squat for 185.

Warmed up, mobilized.
We practiced the Games workouts.
Event 2 Adios Amigos 9:36. Scaled 115, 135, 155 and strict C2B. Went ok, had a couple missed snatches from sweaty bar.
Event 4 Dueces. 2:50. Breaking up ttb and cnj not worth it. Still got winded and its so fast, need to go unbroken next time.
Rest 1 minute then…
Event 5 squat clean. 185- 225. Fell backwards on 225 and then hit it the last minute. Gonna go for 235 next time.
Fun to see the workouts and watch Al and Cheryl prepare. Good luck to all you gamers!!

We were insubordinate little kids and played around with some of the WODs.
Did Event 2 with power snatches and went 135/155/175 (10 pounds less in the 3 set because I cant squat)
Did event for 4 without the run ( rode the aerodyne until Cheryl got back from her run) and tried a power clean after to simulate event 5.

I still cant bend my left knee more than 90 degrees without pain.

Ummmm, ? I actually ate three meals with real carbohydrates today. Wasn’t in meetings through lunch or mid afternoon and had an apple before I worked out. My nutrition is horrible. Although I eat clean I just don’t eat enough. My dat intake is the only thing I get enough of because I snack in almonds in meetings and all day. Still in a hotel so no ability to cook for myself yet.

Definitely what I see most of with athletes, their lack of calories. Try incorporating some more carbohydrates throughout the day and see how you feel!

They usually kill me also Pete. I just focused on a good breathing rhythm and kept my heart rate down instead of spazzing like I normally do.
