This workout begins with the dumbbell resting on the floor and the athlete standing tall. At the call of “3, 2, 1… go!” the athlete will reach down and begin the dumbbell snatches, alternating arms after each repetition. Once all reps are complete, they will move to the box and perform 15 burpee box jump-overs, then move back to the snatch, etc. In each round the number of repetitions of the snatch will increase. This workout ends when the feet land on the ground on the other side of the box on the final rep.
Every second counts in this workout. The athlete’s score will be the time it takes to complete all 225 repetitions. Time will be recorded in full seconds. Do not round up. If the athlete finishes in 10:32.7, their score is 10:32. There is a 20-minute time cap. If they do not finish all 225 reps before the time cap, their score will be the number of reps completed.

started with burpee box jump overs but torn meniscus did not like that so switch to jump out jump in step over the box.

Lactate Threshold – Warm up, drills, 50m sprints.
Run x 5 minutes – 980m – 8:12/mi.
Rest x 2 minutes
Run x 6 minutes – 1100m – 8:46/mi.
Rest x 90 seconds
Run x 7 minutes – 1240m – 9:05/mi.
Rest x 1 minute
Run x 8 minutes – 1480m – 8:42/mi.
Did this in a park loop. Goal was to stay under 8 min/mile. Ended up getting none. Probably due to skip a good 17 days without running, and it showed.

Just overall tired and sore and no will to push when it got hard. Plus ate too close to training. Also came out too hot. I actually stopped for about 90 seconds at some point. Not overly concerned. Will rest, eat well and crush it if it gives me the chance in the open.
Last year I went out way too hot on this workout and redid it still fatigued on Monday. That process put me in a hole both physically and mentally for much of the Open. Today I went deliberately slow on the first four rounds of burpees and even broke up my sets of 40 (20, 20) and 50 (20, 15, 15). I adhered to all the new snatch and burpee standards and even no repped myself a few times when both heads of the dumbbell didn’t touch. Well. I participated in the wod at my local Crossfit this morning then came home and did 17.1. I decided not to kill myself since I had just finished a wod. I had NO idea what my time was last year. I didn’t look it up til after.

I was not looking forward to this at all! Like never wanted to do again. But i did, and used the new burpee standards. Last year, stepping the burpees out saved my legs! Anyway, i got it in 17:52 today. Last year 19:07. So i shaved 1:15 off my time!!! Not bad beings that i feel my cardio is crap since i hurt my calf. 2017:186 (my back spasmed in the round of 30 last year)
2018: 18:49 (no issues with my back but now either have a sinus or ear infection as I can not hear out of either ear. I had the music at full volume and could nearly hear it)
Glad you had no back issues!!! Now take care of that sinus infection!
17.1 last week and improved 20 seconds.
17.5 today and improved from 9:41 to 9:24. Lots of trips and a shoe lace issue, so on a great day it could be closer to 9:00.
