Primary Strength Session
Empty Barbell Movement Primer
Three sets of:
Overhead Squat x 5 reps
(use a progressively narrower grip for every set)
Rest as needed

Followed by…

Two sets of:
Front squat x 5 reps @ 2210
Rest as needed

Followed by…

Two sets of:
1+1/4 Front Squat x 5 reps
Rest as needed

A.
Three sets:
5 reps of each, three times through the complex with barbell
Clean-Grip RDL
Clean Pull from Below Knee
Hang Power Clean + Push Press
Clean from Below Knee + Jerk

*Set 1 – Empty Barbell
*Set 2 – 115/75 lbs
*Set 3 – 115/75 lbs

B.
Take 20 minutes to build to a 1-RM Front Squat

Suggested sets:
*Set 1 – 3 reps @ 70%
*Set 2 – 2 reps @ 75%
*Set 3 – 1 rep @ 80%
*Set 4 – 1 rep @ 85%
*Set 5 – 1 rep @ 90%
*Set 6 – 1 rep @ 95%
*Set 7 – 1 rep @ 101%
*Set 8 – 1 rep @ 101+%

C.
Five sets of:
Clean x 1.1.1
(rest 10 seconds between singles)
Rest as needed

Build over the course of the five sets to today’s heavy triple.

Bench Press x 1 rep

Men start at 135 lbs and add 10 lbs for the first 9 minutes (up to 225 pounds); then increase by 5 lbs per minute until you cannot safely complete the single rep. Ladies start at 65 lbs and add 5 lbs per minute until you cannot safely complete the single rep.

Got up to 375#. All time PR is 385# about 1.5 years ago so this is huge for me.

7:26. Only break was on set of 12 snatches (7/5). Last time went unbroken and right round same time. Legs are smoked form all the running and heavy squats last few days But I’ll take it

Warm Ups done.
Front Squat: finally hit 300lbs! Have been chasing that for a year!
Clean triples: 165, 185, 205, 220, 230
Conditioning: 5:22 – steady burpees box jump overs and UB KB snatches. I chalked the KBs which really helped me since I’m a sweater.
GHD work done. Holy hell does that extra five seconds on the hold burn.

Going to try to come back to hit the bench press madness and some rowing this afternoon.

Hey guys. So I know it’s test week, but I’m really not recovered at all; not sure why.. It all started last Tuesday/Wednesday Feeling like I want to work out (motivated) but body isn’t feeling great! I’m going to lay a little lower this week. The heavy lifting isn’t going well because I feel inhibitions. I’m going to take more of a fun week I think and just do what feels good and call it a day.. Hope you bounce back soon. Always fun to see your numbers! Remember that you just CRUSHED the Open over the last five weeks and pushed everything you had there. So your mind, heart and body might need some extra time. Congrats again your amazing finish, especially that top time on 19.5!

All time Fran PR is 2:36 so I think my time on this was a little below where I needed to be. Intensity wasn’t there today but still happy with the effort

Chesticles up to 170 for a 5lb PR , this was fun!

Front Squat- hit 235 went for 255 was sure I had it, and I didn’t 🙂 lol. old max 260.

Primary Cond – 7:28 I broke the 12’s. 😐 weakness wod for sure! Anything KB and burpee over x and I’m so slow! Working on it.

Hoping to make up those cleans tomorrow!

Just starting to incorporate different movements other than cardio now that my arm surgery is starting to feel better

B. Front Squat 1RM, hit 380lbs today for a 5 pound lifetime PR. Most I’ve hit in the last year or so is probably 355-365. Quite pleased with knowing I’m actually kind of strong still haha!

No time for Cleans.

So, I have been following the program about 6 months now and I never remember to post my scores. But since it is testing week, I figured no time like the present. Warm up done Front Squat PR- 300#! Cleans-155, 175, 190, 205, 225 -Did a different workout with some friends Strength Accessory: Bench workout took forever but I loved starting light and making small jumps-hit 180# which is another PR! …makes up for failing everything yesterday.
