We will be doing some testing this week, and then starting our new Invictus Athlete cycle on August 13, 2018! Training is always more fun with friends, so please encourage your friends and training partners to get on the program to kick off the first post-Games training cycle of the 2019 season.

Primary Strength Session

Openers and Activation
Two sets of:
Biceps Opening Curls x 5/5/5 reps
Rest as needed
Triceps Opening Extensions x 5/5/5 reps
Rest as needed

followed by…

Rear Delt Warm Up
Two sets of:
Incline T Raises x 10 reps @ 2121
(face down, raising straight arms at 90 degrees)
Incline Y Raises x 10 reps @ 2121
(face down, raising straight arms at 45 degrees)
Incline I Raises x 10 reps
(face down, raising straight arms in front)

A.
Every 2 minutes, for 10 minutes (5 sets):
1 Muscle Snatch
2 Drop Snatches
3 Snatch Push Presses

Build over the course of the 5 sets to something heavy-ish for this complex.
Same as last week, try to build a little heavier.

B.
Six sets of:
Snatch Lift-Off + Snatch
Rest 2 minutes

For the lift off, pause for a count of “one one-thousand, two one-thousand” at the mid-patella before returning the weight to the floor. Build over the course of the six sets to today’s heavy.

Followed by…

C.
Every 2 minutes, for 8 minutes (4 sets):
Snatch x 1 rep

Perform these with the same weight you finished with on the lift-off + snatch.

D.
Back Squat
*Set 1 – 5 reps @ 60-65%
*Set 2 – 4 reps @ 70-75%
*Set 3 – 3 reps @ 75-80%
*Set 4 – 2 reps @ 80-85%
Rest no more than 60 seconds – or the time it takes you to put weight on the barbell – between these first four sets!

*Set 5 – 1 rep @ 85%
*Set 6 – 1 rep @ 90%
*Set 7 – 1 rep @ 95%
*Set 8 – 1 rep @ 95+%
Rest 2-3 minutes between sets for the last four sets.

Nose-to-Wall Handstand Hold x 45-60 seconds

Handstand Walk x 50 Feet
Rest 60 seconds
Rope Climb x 2 ascents
Rest as needed

Focus on relaxing your breathing when you are upside down. This is not for time at all and not meant to be rushed through.

Conditioning;
14:37. Ring MU in 10/3, 6/5, 5/4, 4/3, 4/1. Just had to take a lot of pretty long breaks. Snatches were tough but MU were good.
Assault Conditioning:
16:45 total work, a little less than 2:00 a round. BBJO fast, still getting better at the bike!
Strength:
13/9/6 for GHR
5# for Hip Extnesion
Gymnastics:
60/45/45/45

Amanda .45 – 14:26

Was aiming for a faster time but managed to keep it under the 15:00 time cap I gave myself. Snatches went faster as the rounds went, plenty of leg and lockout there. All quick singles.

The skin on my hands went before my MU ability… never failed but had to break early several times at the end not due to failure or fatigue but simply due to skin started to tear.

GHD extensions and planks done.

This was harder than I expected. I felt like the Snatches were extremely taxing on my legs to keep pushing the pace. Muscle ups felt good but broke 13 and 11 into 3 sets in hopes not to burn out early.

D. 345 lb. Last year I back squatted 365 for a double and at the beginning of this cycle I front squatted 325 for a single. It doesn’t make sense ?

I’m calling it a day. My body started to show some flu symptoms and I want to be 100% for the next cycle.

A. No muscle snatches, they just beat up my wrists. 85x 2 sets/95/100/110
B. 105/115/125/135/145/150–didn’t think I was going to hit 150 so happy I did.
C. 150 x 3 and failed last one. happy with this as it’s 92% of my 1-RM, so yay.
D. 165/191/205/215/215/230/245/260 failed. I knew I would fail it based off of how 245# felt, but figured I’d just feel it out.

D. Back squats based off of 455lbs and on the high end of the percentages. Didn’t go passed 435. First part with the one min break was way more tough than I thought it would be.

B: Built to 175lbs, 4×1 E2MOM At 175. No misses.
C: Back Squat: last four at 285, 295. 305, 315. 315 felt really light so went for a PR at 330lbs and just missed. Probably took too long between.
Finished with banded glute bridges and hamstring curls.

Looking forward to Amanda .45 tonight!

My Amanda time sucks big time. My hand started to tore right in the beginning of 11 reps. Went slower do to that also just happy to be doing mu again ☺ can easily be like 2 or 3 min faster. Just sometimea it is a bad metcon day ☺. But what saved the day is finally after a really long time. Many years I set a PR in front squat 185kg hell yeah. First improvement in squat over 3 yearscomment image
